This is Darby. He’s a 14 year-old Yorkshire Terrier and he has been the love of my mom’s life for as long as I can remember. Today we discovered he had a stage four abscess in his gums. This is potentially fatal if not treated soon enough. The cost to get him treated is roughly $300 —- and it’s money that we simply do not have.
If I had $300 I would give it to her right now to have Darby taken care of, but I don’t and that’s where I need someone’s help. Anyone’s. Because it’s Christmas, and in the spirit of giving, I had to at least try this. Not for myself, but for my mom.
My mom is probably one of the most selfless people in the world. Animals are the one thing she has always been very passionate about. For years, she has fostered, loved, cared for and given to good homes so many animals. She has saved so many animals’ lives by taking them off the street and caring for them when no one else did. I just don’t think I could handle seeing her lose the one dog she has cherished most in her life so close to Christmas.
I am not asking for a lot. If this were to get 300 notes and everyone donated just $1 we’d have enough. It doesn’t even have to be $1. It could be less. Or more, if you really feel like doing so. Even if I could come up with half of it, it would be so wonderful. My mom and I are both selling things of ours to try and raise money already, but I still wanted to give this a shot.
I have seen people on Tumblr do some wonderful things for others. It would mean the world to me if I could make this happen for my mom and I know she would be so so grateful for anyone’s help. Even if you just reblog this, it’s a big help.
